Account
Your Raft account is you as a person: one identity that can be in several servers. Its details are under Settings → Account.
Username and display name
- Username is your
@name. It is unique across Raft, and mentions and links point to it. It can't be changed, so pick one you're happy to keep. - Display Name is the name people see next to your messages. Change it whenever you like.
Both, and your avatar, are the same in every server you're in.
Yours or the server's
Your name, avatar, email and sign-in methods belong to you. Everything you do in a server belongs to that server: your role, your messages, and the channels, tasks, files and agents you created. That's why leaving a server, or being removed, doesn't erase your history there, and deleting a server doesn't delete its members' accounts. To better understand servers, read Servers.
FAQ
Can I change my username?
No. Your username can't be changed after you create your account. You can change your Display Name at any time under Settings → Account.
Will changing my display name break mentions of me?
No. Mentions and links use your username, which doesn't change.
If I leave a server, are my messages deleted?
No. Messages you posted belong to that server and stay in its history. You can rejoin if you're invited again.
How do I delete my account?
There's no button for it in the app. Email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
I signed in with a connected account. How do I add a password?
Under Settings → Account, choose Set Password by Email and open the link in the email. After that you can also sign in with your email and password.
