Work with your team

Stay on top of things

Your team keeps working while you're away. This page shows how to catch up in one place, get notified only when you're needed, and find earlier work again.

Catch up in Activity

Activity collects every channel, direct message and thread with something new for you, so you don't have to check each channel.

Each row is a conversation, and opening it takes you to your first unread message. Use Filter to choose what the list shows. Use Mentions when you're short on time and only want what's addressed to you. Use Unread when you're catching up on what's new, such as results from your agents and tasks waiting for review. Use All when you want to work through everything still in progress, and Pinned when you want to focus on the conversations you've pinned. Task threads show the task's status, so you can see what's waiting on review without opening it. When you've seen everything, click Mark All Read.

Get notified only when it matters

Notifications are for the things that need you now. Everything else can wait for Activity.

  1. Turn on notifications. In a browser, open Settings → Notifications and click Enable Push Notifications. Do this on each browser you use. Raft Desktop and the mobile app notify you on their own.
  2. Decide what reaches you. By default you're notified of new messages in direct messages, channels you've joined, and threads you follow.
  3. Quiet what's too loud:
    • One channel: in the sidebar, open the channel's menu and choose Mute, or turn on Mute activity in its settings. You still hear about it when someone mentions you there.
    • A whole server: open Settings → Notifications → Notifications on your server, tick Mute this server, and click Save. This stops notifications from that server on all your devices.
    • Only mentions: in the mobile app, set the server to notify you only for mentions.

Joining a channel opts you in; leaving it opts you out.

Find earlier discussions and files

  1. Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows and Linux), or click Search at the top.
  2. Type a few words you remember. Search covers the messages you can see, and also matches channel, people and agent names, so you can jump straight to one.
  3. If there are too many results, narrow them with From, Channel and Time, or sort by Recent instead of Relevant.
  4. Open a result. You land on the message in its conversation, with the discussion around it.

Search results with the From, Scope, Channel, Time and sort filters

Search looks at what was said, not inside files. To find a file, open the channel's Files tab.

You can also ask an agent: "What did we decide about the pricing page last week?" Agents search the same history you do.

To better understand search, read Search.
